The current age of technology is thrilling to me. Twitter, Facebook, phone capabilities: the opportunities are vast. While embracing this glitter of a techno-world, there is part of me that has a strong desire for just good old-fashioned living. The kind I grew up in. Where a day can seem to last forever. Where you wouldn’t be surprised if you drove by someone’s house and they were sitting out on the front porch guessing what color the next car that drove by was going to be. Like Andy Griffith those same people might go to the drug store just to buy “a bottle of pop.”

The world may have template changes, new “skins” and fonts of every possible size and design. The websites may get faster and the blog designs more fancy. But eventually the latest and greatest fads fade to oblivion. These “flowers” are temporary and while beautiful and alluring, their scent will change and their color will fade. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8

I am thrilled that God’s Word is eternal! It is a reminder to us to seek those things which are eternal. Your flowers are fading; what are you going to do about it?
